Grills

Probably an exhausted topic - please don't chastise me for not searching, I'm being lazy today.

Are any of you carting around a full size charcoal grill? ... like, the Weber kettle?

I don't have an RV yet, but it is in our long term plans. I can't imagine not being able to grill a steak, or if the mood struck me (which is does) smoke a pork shoulder, rack of ribs, or a brisket.... or whip up a beer can chicken or two.

I look at all these things billed as grills (electric, gas, coal, whatever) intended for camping or RV'ing and I just don't think that would do for me.

  • I use a Weber Jumbo Joe kettle. Works great. Not full size but big enough for the two of us and one or two guests.
  • My buddy travels with a pull behind grill on wheels. And he can cook as seen below.

I personally use a Weber Q. Take it to the car wash once a year for a good cleaning.

  • most full sized grills are a pain to work with. you have to have two to lift them in and out of the back of the truck. get your self a smaller one and they work just as well. well the real little ones have no BTU's to them and they go out most of the time. they are the ones that run on the small propane tanks
