Holland Companion Grill

I know - you cannot char/sear meats on this grill but its versatility makes up for it.

One of our favorite meals is meatloaf on this grill. Simply make your favorite loaf recipe and shape it like a half football on a plate and slide it off the plate onto the grill surface which is kinda like mesh.

50 minutes later heat your Bob Evans mashed potatos (we like garlic) and some frozen peas, beans or?. Two flippers (spatulas) lift the loaf and you have a great diner type meal.

The holland grill cooks chicken and ribs brats and dogs without turning and you do not have to open or check the meat. Cokctail time is less stressful when you do not have to keep checking on what you are grilling

We live off this grill for the 10 weeks we spend in Florida State Parks each winter

    the answer can easily be "yes" .... the link provided by Rolling Condo is one I posted on different forum .... in this link info is given on adding a Smoke Daddy to our Holland Companion .... doing so allows it to be used as a grill, a cold smoker, and/or hot smoker .... our first Companion was purchased from Camping World in Myrtle beach .... with the adaptation of a Weber regulator (shown in the link from Rolling Condo) .... the Companion served us well, under heavy use, for well over 10 years .... prior to our current trip we purchase a new Companion, have adapted it for using a Smoke Daddy and are using it on a daily basis .... the Companion is unmatched in grilling thick cuts of meat (be it beef, pork, or chicken) to being medium-well to well done and not drying them out

  • We've had our companion grill for a couple of years now. The first thing I did was quite trying to use the little green cans of propane. I bought the larger tank adapter kit. It's a little more trouble carrying around the larger tank but worth it.
    It took me a while to figure out how to cook with this grille. As the other poster said with my previous grille I was constantly opening the grill to see how things were cooking and turing the meat. With this one you want to leave it closed and only open for turning or when you're eone. When cooking meats I set a timer for when to turn the meat and then again for when it will be done. It does a great job of keeping the meat juicy. But, if you like your meats chared on the outside then this is not the grille for you.

  • Glad your happy. I couldn't wait enough for any real useful cooking purpose. Bacon took about an hour. So I put in a burner from a "grill to go". Then any amount of cooking was to hot. Even on low heat the temp got up to 525.

    I really want to get some type of burner that doesn't take so long to cook or get so hot. Trying to find the middle.
