I cannot fathom why people pay for a RV with amenities like a kitchen and then don't use it.
It's a lot harder to haul all your food and cooking utensils outside, than to use it inside, where it is stored. And you are less likely to attract animals to the site if you cook inside.
But each to his/her own.
It could be just the difference in the way people do things. We don't want the grease that cooking makes, on our beds, sofa, TV, floor, clothes ect.
I can't understand why people drive off into the woods, and cook inside. I can cook inside at home. Much easier to just stay home.
We have a camper to camp. We do not RV. When we are camping, we cook outside. I made a beautiful wooden cover for the stove top to add counter space.
As for your thoughts about attracting animals. I would rather attract them to the outside, Than invite them inside with the smells of cooked food.
For us. there is nothing better than getting up on a cool mountain morning. starting a fire, Cooking breakfast, and then sitting beside the fire to keep warm while eating. and by doing it that way. No bacon grease in the camper, No liver mush smell in the camper, or egg smell. No chance of the smoke alarm sounding off. Only thing we cook in the camper is cornbread, and never in Bear Country.
AND we can clean the cast iron frying pan while we eat. Just put some water and soap in it, and sit it on the fire.
People just look at things different. I like outside. We don't do much of anything in the camper but sleep.
