I'll take the chimney. If I forget it I may not have have oil either. Not that it isn't a good idea, but I hate to use anything more flammable than paper in the grill.
I do use the little blocks from Weber when I start a ring of briquettes in the Brinkman. It makes it easy given the fact you're only starting about 6 pieces. I don't know if this would burn long enough under those conditions though? There isn't much draft to work with.
I was using a home made chimney long ago. It was a #10 tin with coat hanger wires put through it to hold the briquettes. I dumped it with a pair of channel locks, the best DO lid tool made. It wasn't my idea, but I don't remember where I got it.
I thought I added, chemo brain: It is a good idea though and might even boost the chimney which sometimes takes two loads of paper.
