Irish Food: St. Patrick's Day

Thought it would be interesting for people to share their favorite Irish recipes.

Also here's a page of Irish recipes if you're looking for inspiration. http://www.yourirish.com/food/
St. Pat's parties are favorites among Cast Iron chefs because many of these traditional recipes were originally made in cast iron pots.

  • Real Irish don't drink green beer. If you like it, have at it.

    Here's to women's kisses,
    and to whiskey, amber clear;

    but a darn sight more sincere!
  • Despite the fact that I'm in the middle of celebrating the Lunar New Year ("Gung Hay Fat Choy, Y'all!") my mind is still thinking forward to St. Paddy's Day;).

    This year I'll be "corning" a piece of brisket again in honour of the day. No green beer though:D.

    Oh right and here's my base recipe:

    AB's Corned Beef

    Think I'll freeze apart of the roast so we can have a nice hash during the summer for a special breakfast.
  • I like Colcannon. Its basicly mashed potatoes with ham or bacon, cabbage, butter, and milk. Easy to make.
  • Bushmills and ice or

    Jameson and ice

    Sometimes I add hot coffee and Bailey's and no ice
