Hibachis are really designed to do the fast grilling tasks, not the low and slow or baking type tasks. A cast iron dutch oven will do the l&s and baking quite nicely.
Still I agree that cast iron is superior to wire grates and the need for the occasional baked chicken or what have you. If you want a "lid" then put a cast iron roaster or d.o. upside down over their grill surface.
