Lucky find.

A 90 year old gentleman had an estate sale today on the Central Coast by Morro Bay. While my wife was fighting the crowd in the house I went into his garage and found 2 #8 cars iron skillets. One is a Griswold, the other just has a JU on the bottom. Both are in great shape and just need a little seasoning. Got them both for $10. Can't wait to get home and get them ready for camping.

Are they shaped like 'cars' or would that be 'cast iron'?

    Great price.

    I just paid $25 for a 12 1/4" new Lodge skillet

I'm thinking OLD BISCUIT has made many biscuits in a large cast iron skillet.

    RT,

Treasure that Griswold. You might want it appraised too because some are worth quite a bit of $$$.

    Congrats on that find!

Happy for you -- I love vintage cast iron! I have a 6" with an extra deep, rounded shape that I am fond of. And some enameled ones for tomato sauce.
