Mini loaf breads from cake mixes

I think it's fine to bake for close friends and family. However, I think it's inconsiderate to bake for casual acquaintances. Do you know everyone who has nut allergies?, gluten intolerances? diabetes? trying to lose weight? just plain doesn't like banana bread or whatever?
Are you really trying to give a thoughtful gift or just looking for credit for your efforts?
It's very hard to refuse one of these gifts. I think the givers should consider these points or risk having their efforts wasted.
