Our ice maker is an Emerson and cost about 140. I could have bought it for less online but I didn't want to take the chance of having to ship a return in case it malfunctioned. It's about the size of a breadmaker. Last summer was it's 5th season and it still runs like a charm. I know that it paid for itself quickly when you figure the cost of ice. The other plus is not having the whose turn is it to go buy ice discussion! Our refrigerator is only used for food. Beverages are kept in a cooler. The ice maker will make apx 26 pounds of ice a day so it makes more than enough for the cooler and to put in beverages.
