My Lodge cast iron pan is a DISASTER. Help....

I have had some serious messed up cast iron. Rusty, Filthy cooked on stuff, etc. What usually works the best (easiest) for me is the camp fire thing. Through that thing in there and cook it!
And then for cleaning I give it a good scrubbin with vinegar and backing soda with a pan/pot scrubbin brush. You know, the kind for a buck or so.
Seems to clean them up real good then I re season and start cookin BACON!
