I would try washing with hot soapy water and a steel scrubbie. Next I'd oil it well, and put it on a burner at medium heat then check it carefully for urine odors.If you smell urine I'd spray some of the pet spot cleaner with an enzyme in it so it can "digest" the smell. Let it sit for a few days then clean, oil and reheat to test it for odor. Steel, even if it is seasoned can absorb odors. If after a few enzyme treatments you still smell urine, I'd set it aside and buy another on. But if it all comes out clean you can use it.
I'd think it you do a final season in a hot oven it should kill all bacteria and viruses but...it never hurts to be cautious and avoid using it.
