Zip Lock Omelet.
Couple of eggs, whatever kind of cooked meat you want, some fresh veggies (don't use fresh mushrooms!) and some cheese. All go into a gallon size ziplock bag (use a good quality!). Moosh them all together in the bag, then squeeze all the air out that you can. Into rolling boiling water for 13 minutes, then fish out with tongs.
Now before anyone even starts - Ziploc says their bags are BPA free and have no dioxin in the manufacturing process. Would I eat one of these every morning? No. But for a camping breakfast once in a while, I'm good with it.
This is also a great thing to do with the kids.! :C
Every time I set this up for the kids in the CG they just go wild being able to make their very own omelet.
I set up a line of bowls with all the different items to put in the omelet for them to choose from.
They get to mix up whatever ingredients they want to put in the omelet and 'cook it all by themselves'.
I find it really interesting that a kid that won't eat veggies at home you will find them putting it in their baggie omelet.
I have them put a number on the outside of the baggie with a very slim waterproof marker. Eliminates any confusion which omelet bag belongs to who!
BTW: I do have an adult standing close by the boiling pot of water just for safety. But the kids cook it all by their selves.
