New Lodge Cast Iron
I just bought a new seasoned Lodge cast Iron skillet from Wally World. It's working better than I thought it would. I'm impressed b/c based on some comments you'd think cast iron is the devil's me...

My DH informed me that he had found an old cast iron skillet last year. He put it aside in the garage thinking that I might want it in the future when our son gets into Boy Scouts... but he forgot to tell me about it.
It's a Wagner 8" skillet and it looks great under the layer of rust (he found it sitting outside in the bushes). We are glass beading and cup sanding it tomorrow. Wish me luck :)
Congratulations but I'm not sure I would glass bead it. Cast iron isn't real hard and I don't know how aggressive glass beading is. As noted previously, a cured skillet is shinny smooth. I have used a wire wheel lightly with no problem... Just a thought..
