Son is going to be in New Orleans for a meeting and asked what kind of beer I wanted him to bring me back. Looks like about 6-7 craft breweries in that area, which if any can/bottle their beer and if there are multiple choices which one should I choose??? Need local imput.

I'm not a local, but if I were you I would just pick something and try it. That's part of the fun of craft beers. Over time I've come to favor ambers, stouts and porters. So I'm willing to try anyone's offerings of these.

With 6 or 7 breweries to choose from my advice would be at least a six-pack from each should do nicely... that way if the question ever comes up again you should be fairly well qualified to offer an opinion. Just tell your son your doing research for the forum... Problem solved.

OK I looked up Dixie and it's a contract brewer. Meaning it's brewed eldewhere and the just slap labels on it. Not sure that is what I want....
Any other suggestions?

Great Idea, but I'm not sure how he'd get the suitcase thru the airport security. I'm really gonna be held to one sixpack of something I've never tried. So I really need some help here.... Forgot to say I'm not a hophead. I like the darker maltier beer.

One of our chain grocery stores stocks a good bit of local craft beer. They have a cooler with a variety and blank 6-pack holders. You pick any 6 for $10. It's a neat way to try out the local beers.

Have him look for that. I have seen it at the beach in North Carolina too.
