- raindoveExplorerMy mom got them and gave me one. But as far as I'm concerned, she got ripped. The extra postage was high, and the free pans -- well, just say the postage fees more than paid for the pans. And she didn't get the second set of pans she was promised.
I'm considering a second one, and if I do, I think the better deal is to get them at Bed, Bath, and Beyond and use one of the 20% coupons they seem to have floating around all the time. Check TJ Maxx and stores like that, who get good quality stuff in at discounted prices. I think the pans I got are much better than the ones she got for "free" (remember high shipping charge).
I got Mondo ceramic fry pans at a good price. I had called over to a kitchen outlet store and they quoted me a price on a set of fry pans for $60.00 - these Mondo pans - I got both the 8" and 11" for $27. - StefoniusExplorerFor those of you who got the second one "free" and just had to pay separate "shipping and processing", how much is the S&P? That's the big detail they always leave out.
- raindoveExplorerMy mother got the 2 fer 1 plus shipping, and gave me the extra one. It sat in the box until I found pans to use on it. I recently got some non stick fry pans at TJ Maxx and I love both the pans and the Nuwave Pic. Plan on taking it in the MH when we go.
- Go_DogsExplorerI appreciate all the info here. I thought the Nuwave PIC would be on QVC, but I was wrong! I went on the website and it was a little confusing. Could someone tell me what is the dang price with S&H? I saw a Nuwave PIC 2 at Bed, Bath,& Beyond for $99. With a 20% coupon-$80. Is this about the best price that I can get? TIA
- PGR_SkyeExplorerJust ordered mine on the 26th and they were delivered early this afternoon. DH told me he wanted steamed rice and vegetables for dinner tonight. LOL!
- bradykExplorerThat is what we figured but sure was good on the smaller pots. Wife had to test it out this morning and cooked a pot of vegetables and had a big grin on her face when I checked in as she hadn't tried it last night. She then cooked up a fry pan of scrambled eggs with veggies and loved the outcome. Said she found that in both cases she felt she had a lot better control of the heat than the stove being able to fine tune the temp. Should be interesting once we hit the road next week. Just thought I would post for those thinking about it. I will report back after our 3 week trip to the Oregon coast and I am sure we will have found lots of things to talk about.
- SWMOExplorerBradyk the problem with big pots on the unit is the size of the heat potential. It's about 6", or like many camp stoves or the small burners on an electric stove.
- bradykExplorerPicked my NuWave up tonight and did a couple of unofficial cooking experiments.
Put on the 9 cup Bass Pro coffee percolator and it had the water boiling in only a few minutes. It looks like a lot quicker than cooking on the camp Chef stove that we are doing now. Tried some smaller pots of water and it went real fast as well. the part that didn't work as well was the big as we call it spaghetti pot. maybe just a little big but took 15 minutes to volcano boil and tried the same on the stove in the house at 11.5 minutes for about the same. Not scientific but with a large amount of water didn't save much there. I haven't tried on the Camp Chef to compare yey but maybe a difference there.
Overall impression is pretty slick for a small appliance. Just make sure to check your pots and pans for being compatible (magnetic) or it will not work. We had a bunch of pieces that were ok so not a big deal but we have several that don't work too. - SWMOExplorerI ordered ours online and still had to uncheck a long list of items you can't live without.LOL
- PGR_SkyeExplorerCalled the number on their website and did get my order in. DH had seen their commercial on TV a couple of days ago and it was offering the second one for just shipping charges and wanted them so mine our now on order. What really convinced me was the responses on this thread. Now we can't wait to get them and try them. By the way, if you do call to order, allow yourself some time on the phone. As soon as you order, they have another special they offer you and when you say "no" they say okay, then they want to tell you about another special offer and this goes on for quite some time. After all was said and done and the salesperson put my order in, she said "Oh, you've won a free two day cruise" for just the docking charges or something like that. She switched me over to the travel agent and I hung up.
