I bring my Lodge camp oven (among other cast iron items) on all my trips. It even works nicely on the stove top in the RV if the weather isn't nice outside. The only issue is that there is no room on the stove for anything else.
Do a search for how to care for cast iron if you've never dealt with it. Properly cared for CI is a joy to work with. Neglected CI will frustrate you.
