I discover new, to me, things about the NuWave almost every day. The latest is popcorn.
We don't like all the stuff they put in those microwave ready to cook packages nor their cost. We like just the corn with a little oil and salt so we make it from scratch.
Years ago, before microwave, we popped it in a pot on a gas range with some success. Then we used the microwave and a microwave safe container. That took about 8 minutes and left many un-popped kernels and required corn oil to keep from burning.
I decided to try it in a pot and the NuWave. I put a little olive oil in the pot with 1/4 cup of popcorn. Covered the pot and set the unit to 275F.
Four minutes later the corn stopped popping and I raised the heat to finish it. But no further popping occurred.
When I emptied the pot into a glass bowl I discovered that every kernel of corn was popped and increasing the heat wasn't necessary. I've never been able to get every kernel to pop before. And I like the fact that I can use olive oil instead of corn oil. I may try butter next time.
Good Luck!
