With that the bottom of the bird cooked fine...nice and brown all over.
At one time turkeys and the like tended to undercook at the very bottom portion in the basket. Raising the basket brought it back up into the high heat zone.
I was just curious. It was such a common complaint that they probably added some height to the legs. It didn't really deter from the overall quality of the unit because the fix was easy.
