one appliance multiple uses

My oil filled radiator always has a couple cans of "something" on it.

It works great for canned stew, corned beef hash, chicken and dumps, chili, etc.

We don't carry a coffee maker, nor do we use one at home. I just thought it was interesting what folks come up with. Wonder how many people saw the article and decided to use the hotel maker for stuff like this. terry r.

Back in my tent camping days I forgot my Coleman stove one trip and cooked everything on my lantern. Took the dome off for all pan cooking including perc coffee and used the dome on to warm all my flour tortillas. Necessicity is truly the mother of invention.

It is important to know how hot the water gets. If it doesn't do 160 f then it is unsafe to cook in the pot. This is somewhat voltage dependent. So do use a candy thermometer before you try cooking in your pot.

Mine is safe, and I do "coffee pot" eggs as I trundle down the road.

Place an egg in the pot--then make coffee. It takes about 35 to 45 minutes for a hard boiled egg. I've not had much success doing a soft boiled egg.

Be sure to clean the egg(s) before placing them in the pot.

The nice thing is that I end up with both coffee and eggs!

I am not going to mess with my fresh ground Bean Cuisinart coffee maker HAHA.

I have plenty of other ways to cook up things when off the power grid.

hmmm.... you better really clean that out after those meals- I wonder if you could fry an egg on the burner?
