Before I found out about 1015 onions, I was a "poke & hope" onion buyer. Of course I knew Vidalia but not much more. I used your method of flat is sweeter than round and if I mentioned my theory to anyone, I got the "stare".. It's good to find someone who agrees with me. Agreeable folks are becoming more & more hard to find for my ideas.. .
I have another question for you onion connoisseurs. 1015s were in Costco only on one of my visits, usually every two weeks. I also found them in the markets. Now Costco has Vidalia's but for how long? No more 1015s in the stores. With some care, onions keep for a long time. If this strain is so popular, why isn't there sufficient quantities grown to be available year 'round.? Is it a conspiracy spawned by the Reagan Administration to force us onionheads accept what they want us to have?? :)
