- WanderlostNomad IIWell, it was good, but way too rich for us. Christmas will be brownies with cinnamon and chipotle powder, and pumpkin mousse.

- NYCgrrlExplorerMy, my my.....so it is true?! Everything IS bigger in Texas:D.
That's some recipe and it looks like the finished cake lives up to the hype:).
Were you and yours able to wait to the end of the meal to sample it? - Super_DaveExplorerThe cake recipe is used in a few different from scratch cakes that I make. The buttermilk is the ingredient for a moist cake. I think that you will be very pleased.
- magnusfideExplorer III like the Texas shapes better anyway. Great job! Glad that WLTwo's surgery was successful. Have a great Thanksgiving!
- WanderlostNomad IIHere 'tis:
The pie custard is rich but not particularly sweet. No idea what the cake tastes like, but I used butter only, not half butter/half shortening, so I know it's richer, too.
The pie crust leaves were not gonna happen, since I have no leaf cookie cutter and can't draw. But I did have a Texas shaped cookie cutter, and the pecans are from Texas, so there ya are. - KLOExplorerOMG, that looks heavenly! Not even going to think about how many pounds it would put on!!!
