My favorite ole standby is you always have a few cans of Pork N Beans on hand.
When i am by myself I usually stop by a WALMART just before heading into the campsite. I will pick up several (Kept Cold) pre-made hamburger patties.. These will keep a long time in a closed plastic lid container sitting on top of the ice in the 5-day ice chest.
For a real quick cooked hot meal is break up a couple of hamburger pattie in the skillet and heat for few minutes and then pour in a can of Pork N Beans and some cut up onions. Stir it all up until hot.
A very simple quick meal and tasty to me...
The last time I did this I standing over the Coleman burner under the awning stiring things up and two dogs from down the camp road was standing behind me wanting some... Must be good if the dogs want it too... They got some too...
The dog owner came up to get his dogs and he got some too...
