Charcoal. Get a chimney starter. Coals ready in 15 minutes, just 5 more then letting the gasser come up to temp and cook off the last meal. With charcoal I just let it burn out after cooking and the grate is clean and ready for the brush next cook. Charcoal is really not that much more time consuming then using a gasser but it is a little more work than just lighting a burner. You do have to pour charcoal out of the bag after all.
I don't seem to have that luck. I agree the coals are ready to pour in 15 minutes, but it always seems to take another 5 to 10 to get them really hot, then there's the bag, finding paper , and picking up spills.
I use when charcoal when gas won't do, and it won't always, but give me the 120, ready, as in HOT in 5 minutes or so and that cast iron grate will sear like nothing else.
