questions about horsemeat
Personally, I don't eat much meat- I would be a vegetarian if it wasn't for rest of the family.
I've been to livestock auctions and I've seen the horses that are destined for slaughter. They go to Canada to be processed. The horses are: blind, lame, toothless, sick, etc. They are old Amish farm horses, old racehorses that became trail horses, whatever.
Some of these horses have had years of steroids, antibiotics, anti-inflammatories, worm medications, vaccinations, etc.
Of all the animals raised for food, these horses seem to be the LAST thing, anyone would want to eat. Ancient animals that have been blasted with chemicals for years. It's not as if this meat is going to feed starving people, or pet food-it's considered a delicacy. They are trying to legalize horse meat processing facilities in the United States.
Has anyone had any experience with horsemeat? Am I correct in assuming that this meat seems dangerous?
