In my house the man is the resident "dog freak". In truth, all he really wants to eat is the waterlogged franks with sauerkraut and a schmear of French's mustard from a cart on the streets of NYC. Still, when you enter your 7th decade it's time to keep your arteries in mind so he eats the toppings I make and dreams of a different time:
Thin slices of avocado placed on each bun side
Fresh tomato salsa topping
A portion of brocolli or cole slaw on the side.
