Just throwing out an alternative option, we think the best hash browns are from Waffle House, they are a rehydrated potato cooked with a liquid butter substitute. We get both from a restaurant supply house, the liquid butter brand is Whirl, we cook everything at camp with it and also use it to make chicken wing sauce.
