There was a local dentist who was buying back extra candy from kids & sending it to the troops! Win win for everyone! - ratherBcampinExplorer

That was the sole reason my 17 y.o. daughter decided to trick or treat this year......She's donating it ALL to Operation Tango Mike, a local organization that sends MONTHLY care packages to our troops...Well, ALMOST "all" cuz I have an affinity for Twix :)

Heard of a dentist that buys it! But think you need to be a kid. (Some of us still are)
Just heard on the radio that there's a program where Dentists pay children $1. per pound of Halloween candy. The candy then gets sent to US troops overseas.
Could probably Google to find out if there are participating dentists in your area.
Yes, that is the same one in my city. I don't know why I thought it was the city govt. They can't even drum up money for most things. But, yes it was a dentist's program and the candy goes to troops overseas. - EscargotExplorer

Their kids will be bouncing for days driving their parents crazy. The obnoxious relative/neighbor will be checked into a rubber room leaving you in peace and quiet.

I don't know what happened to the kids in my neighborhood but I'm left with wayyyy too much candy. What recipe ideas can we think of to get ride of it besides taking it to work? Maybe I could rent a space at the next Fair and deep fry all of it.
Our city has started buying all leftover candy @ $1.00 a lb and the candy is being sent in packages to our troops overseas and also to children's facilities in town. I don't know if this is something new or just new to us. A good way to use it up without just dumping it. - tomkaren13ExplorerHeard of a dentist that buys it! But think you need to be a kid. - Did not have any leftovers this year. Wife dumped four bags of candy into a bowl and went out front to greet the kids (keeps the dogs quiet). Twenty minutes later she comes back in with an empty bowl. She says " I started getting cold and just put handfulls into the kids bags so i could come back into the house".

I've made a good share of it disappear for breakfast this morning. ;) - hokeypokeyExplorerI used to send it to work with our son-in-law because he worked at a plant with several break rooms and many men (mostly young). He said it disappeared quickly.
