We replaced our 30 year old Sunbeam when it died with a smaller one that has just a low and high setting. Not good. After a couple of hours it is boiling the liquid when set on low, and isn't actually slow cooking. I will be looking for another replacement soon.
On Edit: Mine was the oblong West Bend like Jim Shoe has a link too. Loved that thing and had used it since 1972. Some good things are still around. Thanks Jim - I'll be ordering one again. Didn't think they would still be around.
