If you are interested in something that works as more than just a slow cooker, I like my Nesco 4qt roaster oven. It gives me complete control of my temps. I like to stick a whole chicken at the highest temp. to get some color, then turn it down to roast it according to when I need it to be done.
They no longer make the 4qt., but have replaced it with a 5.
It is very versatile for the camper. I have used it to do everything from oats to pizza. Soups and stews work out great for slow cooking or I can crank up the heat to get things done more quickly. I have an 18 qt. I leave at home.
