It is a good product and has been around for a very long time. My dad got one something like 20 years ago and it got a lot of use. After many years the plastic cylinders finally got brittle and broke, no shame for it at that point. He bought a new one. We already have a kitchenaid food processor so we don't need one, but I would not hesitate to recommend the salad shooter.
