Slow Cooker Angel Hair Chicken

My DW got this from the pintrest website and we had it for dinner last night. It is really good and I wanted to share it with you. We adjusted the cook time down from the original 6-7 hours.

1/2 cup butter (1 stick)
2 packets Italian Dressing Mix Powder (0.7 ounces each)
1 Cup Chicken Broth (Original recipe uses white cooking wine)
2 cans golden mushroom soup
8 ounces cream cheese at room temperature
16 ounce box angel hair pasta (entire box)
2-3 lbs thawed boneless skinless chicken breasts or chicken tenderloins cut in bite size pieces

Mix butter, Italian dressing mix, broth, soup, and cream cheese in a sauce pot on top of stove. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until melted and well mixed.

Place chicken in slow cooker. Pour sauce over. Cook on low for 21/2 -3 hours.
Before serving, Cook pasta according to package directions, drain.
Serve hot.

  • I've had this recipe since 1977. It was in my very first "slow cooker" cookbook! I was a newlywed and I wow'd my parents with my first meal. It really is very very good for what little work is involved.

I don't know why, but so far I've not moved one of my slow cookers out to the camper yet. Maybe I better do that soon.

I'm not a fan of revived meals. I like them fresh.

  • Looks good, but I would have to halve it and that looks easy enough. I will have to try this one. I hate to see recipes that look good but are to large for us and impossible to halve.
  • Have never made it in slow cooker(good idea) but make it in oven @ 350 for an hour. It is hands down my teenage kids favorite meal, delicious!
  • Looks good, but I would have probably added some broccoli in to cook along in with it.
