It is virtually the same as the Brinkman I posted, without all the modifications. There is an advantage that often goes unnoticed when smoking meats and that is the space available. It's easier to control heat with less air space. If you use a short barrel and a Gourmet base, available separate, you can snake the charcoal and cook long and slow at a good temperature.
I do about as well with this unit as I do with my Masterbuilt or any of the various units I've used the last 40 years.
I'm not knocking the modified Smokey Joes, just saying I know a better way.
