We stop and eat somewhere on the road. This way we are not craving for snacks. I do like have a candy bar ever so often, LOL.
We do stop every two hours at a rest stop, etc . We know to many people having blood clots on the road because of pushing it to much and not taking walking breaks.
We stop on the road for specific destinations but rightly or wrongly I plot out what's available to eat before we get in the car. Not passing through an area with a restaurant I want to eat at? Then it's
time to reach into the provisions:).
Another snack that's a perennial favorite on our end:
1 can of mixed nuts combined with raisins, dried cocanut and dried cherries or cranberries.
