Did a test run at home yesterday. How great of an learning experience and trial. Did the chart thing for the coals (8 on the bottom, 17 on top = 350 in a 12"). 33 degrees out, but why not. Have a Volcano Grill and the 12" DO fits perfectly. Also have the Volcano cover, and used it because of the chilly weather. Biscuits didn't rise as much as I wanted, but went ahead any way. After 30 minutes, golden brown tops and darker bottoms, but GREAT!!! Warm out of the oven with a little butter and worth all the effort.
Now just gotta figure out how to get all this prep work simplified so that when we're out camping, I don't have to bring the entire kitchen to make biscuits.
Is there a way get the dough "oven ready" and keep it for a couple of days before baking it?
