I think it fits in great with camping. I have used mine many times and used it twice this last weekend camping. It's a crock pot. If the power goes out, your food continues to cook. I doubt the temp would change 2 degrees in half an hour. Not like a gas fire that quits cooking the instant the fuel is gone.
I don't intend to sound argumentative but I can not allow someone who has never used SV to criticize a perfectly safe and great cooking technique and make untruthful and inaccurate statements.
Not to mention being so off topic. The thread was not about SV being safe or not.
The OP posted to share how awesome he thought it is.
I am going to go out on a limb and say that I doubt you will hear anything negative about SV coming from someone who actually has one and uses it.
I have introduced it to many people who are amateur chefs and to a person, they have thanked me.
