Having survived a rippin' case of food poisoning one Thanksgiving (many moons ago) from my favorite and beloved aunt.. I do not stuff turkeys as an adult. There were 2 bathrooms & 14 deathly ill people. You can connect the dots, but it was like a scene from a warped Monty Python movie....lol My dad said he could taste something OFF in the dressing which had been cooked IN the bird.
Don't care to EVER GO THERE AGAIN.. so.. I either oven bake my dressing or put it in the crockpot.

Much too fast for salmonella, E.coli, and/or most other slow growers to have been a causative factor. Sounds like your basic fast-acting gastro-bacterial infection, more likely to have been caused by someone's failure to wash their hands after diapering one of the babies or going to the john...next stop: the kitchen, where they handled the rolls, raw vegetables, or whatever.
Fecal-oral contamination spread by a lack of or improper handwashing is the number one cause of the spread of foodborne illness.
Don't blame the stuffing- no matter WHAT your Dad thinks he remembers!
Sorry.. I disagree with your DX Dr. Francesca. There were NO babies there. Youngest was about 8. We all broke with the same issue about 12 hrs after eating. My dad (who did see a Dr) hemorrhaged rectally (TMI--sorry). DR said food poisoning. I never said it broke the same day. We always spent the holidays with my aunt which meant spending a few nights at her place.
