Substitution for Oyster Sauce??

I found a recipe for Thai drunken noodles that I like but I would like to make it kosher for us by replacing the oyster sauce with something else. Can anyone give me a good idea? Be gentle, I'm a male and don't understand exotic terms such as stir, boil, etc.
  • Rick....Best Asian market on Vancouver Wa....49th St. & 112th Ave. In the strip mall behind the Shell station. They are very helpful and have EVERYTHING!!!
  • I've left it out of a marinade because it is so salty and did not see a difference.
  • I've used Hoisan sauce when I was out of Oyster but can't tell yo what's in Hoisan sauce to say it is any better from a kosher standpoint.
  • They make an oyster sauce that comes from oyster mushrooms instead of oysters. Not certified kosher though. Plum sauce would be my next choice. Probably have to find a well stocked asian market.
