You could always go to Home Depot and get a heavy duty canvas painter's drop cloth. The edges are already hemmed. Cut the size you need for your bag, sew it along the sides, and you are good to go. You could also add a drawstring to the hemmed edge. We used these for making dog beds for our pups when they were still at the "eating the bed" stage. Handy for lots of things.
