You really don't need to hang a dutch oven. A few pieces of charcoal under and some on the lid and you're good to go. I also like to use an electric slow cooker outside for preparing meals when we won't be around the campsite most of the day. Wouldn't do that in bear country (LOL) and do have a cooker with a latching lid. My main source of cooking though is a charcoal grill.
