As a youngster, utilities hadn't quite reached the old farmhouse. Hauled a lot of firewood to fuel the ol' Ben Franklin, while being blessed with the girth of the Sears & Roebuck catalog; it's resting place in the "two-seater" outhouse. Great innovations: electricity and TP, not to mention indoor plumbing.
Fast-forward to today's full timing... Live to eat or eat to live? Give me gas, inside or out! I can throw some wet chips into the grill to get that smokey flavor if desired. A crockpot does add nice variety. All easy cleanup. Maybe it's just health related adjustments, age, or the fact that I eat my own cooking nearly everyday, but few things tastes quite as good today as they did 60 years ago. While some things taste even better. Confused yet? LOL.
