Cooking with wind on Blackstone

Just got a 17" Blackstone to replace our Coleman. All good, but on a windy day, I couldn't get it hot enough to cook anything. It was an issue with the Coleman, but just took a bit longer. The gap between the burner and griddle is significant. I tried to block the wind, but it just didn't work.

Ideas?
