I have two Weber Q's and both of them I had to drill the orifice to a larger size for my liking. Now they work great. I went up 2 sizes in my orifice drill bits to get it right.
Well I can't really say I've had that problem. I do use a tank though and mine is 5 or 6 years old. I suppose it's possible there have been changes, but I still can't say I've had any problem with a gas grill. No matter what you use you have to get all the material a that affects and absorbs the heat to temperature. If you fire up a grill and proceed to cook without heating it up thoroughly you will have problems.
