That has been a big concern of mine too. We take everything out, every trip.
By the sounds of it no one has had a problem with can goods getting to hot in the summer months (100+ some days here in Midwest) and causing damage to the contents?

In Western Washington we worry more about rain and roof leaks than 100* days damaging canned goods
