I was also thinking Colombian avocados, which is common vernacular in central America, that we know as a Hass avocado in the states.
Still unsure about the "g" measurement. - prstlkExplorer40 years in the produce biss. Col might be an abbreviation for Colavo which is one of the biggest packers of avocados
- MocoondoExplorer IIThis is my guac recipe. I picked it up years ago when I was living in the Caribbean.
4 large avocados
Juice of one LEMON
8 or more dashes hot pepper sauce such as Tabasco
1/2 cup diced red onion
1 minced garlic clove
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
1 medium tomato seeded, diced
It is a little different in that you use lemon juice versus lime, but it really works. - NYCgrrlExplorer

Have a recipe that calls for
2 col avocados
2 - g chopped cilantro,
1 - g diced tomatoes,
1 - 2 g lime juice.
What does the col and/or g stand for?
Looks pretty good to me - my kind of guacamole! Lots of avocado and little anything else - although 1 gram of diced tomatoes do sound a bit anemic there. ( There are 454 grams in a pound ). I assume the col is a misprint - perhaps they meant 2 cored and peeled avocados.,,,
Good answer!
I prefer about....1/2 a medium tomato and say a 1/4 of a medium onion yet imagine there are so many recipes to accommodate everyone's tastes. - Ed_GeeExplorer II

- MurphsmomExplorerMy favorite quick guacamole recipe just uses avocado, green salsa and a bit of garlic powder. The green salsa has enough acid that the avocados don't turn dark, and using green salsa instead of red means that the salsa stays green.
I don't ever use a recipe for guacamole...just the above or if I make it from scratch, I just keep adding things like lime juice, cilantro, garlic, green onions, tomato, etc., until it tastes right. I don't add salt to the mixture, though, as the salt from the tortilla chips is usually plenty. - NYCgrrlExplorer

It would certainly not be grams. 2 grams is a very small amount of anything.
You have a valid point when it comes to the measurement being a small amount.
Here's a gaucimole recipe written in grams using only one avocado:To make 1 serving of guacamole:
1 ripe Haas avocado (The flesh from one avocado at our restaurants weighs 200 grams and this recipe is built around that number, you may need another avocado to get your quota of flesh if they are on the smaller side.)
10 grams of fresh green cilantro leaves
10 grams of freshly squeezed lime juice
3 grams of salt
20 grams of sweet pickled jalapeƱos, cut into a small dice
20 grams of minced white onion
The comparison in amts is startling.
