Love cast iron. I have a lot of it. A suggestion is to get a nice reversible grill/griddle pan. It was a life saver a few weeks back. I was invited to a cook out. My son was planning on using the gas grill and at the last minute, realized he was out of propane. We did the steaks on the cast iron grill plate in the kitchen-they turned out perfectly. They made pancakes on the griddle side, next morning. It cost me $14, and is long enough to fit over two burners. Don't know how it would work on an electric stovetop.
