Who knew?
I ran across an article clicky and I wondered how many cast iron owners knew these amazing facts, so I am asking how many of you guys knew what the numbers on your cast iron, mean?

I have a #3 "Erie" scotch bowl (from the late 1800s), which didn't make sense at first, because a #8 lid would fit it. After googling around, I landed on that exact same site, which explained it.. It's about the size of the bottom (fitting in a wood stove), not the top.
