- eabc5454ExplorerFrom Fairfax, head west to 11 South, and visit New Market (civil war battlefield), and there's a great KOA and a Nascar campground I know very little about. Then head south to Staunton. There's another nice KOA and Staunton is a nice small town. Continue South to Lexington and visit VMI. Then go to Natural Bridge - the KOA is nice but steep. The Jellystone is very tight and expensive, but the kids like the waterpark. Visit Natural Bridge - it's amazing and a neat day hike. Then get on the Blue Ridge Parkway to visit the KOA near Lynchburg. Go North on 29 to visit Monticello, Michie Tavern, the University of Virginia and Charlottesville. Stay at the Charlottesville KOA, not the Madison one. Continue North on 29 to Gainesville, and you're almost home.
Happy traveling! - sljohnson1938ExplorerIf you are near Hillsville, VA on Labor day weekend ,Sept 2nd. there is a HUGE 3 days event Flea market/Gun show there. Best time to get there is early in the morning on Friday or Sunday, forget Saturday.
- EycomExplorerHead west over the mountains into West by God, VA. If you find the "Wild and Wonderful" moniker attractive, Canaan Valley and Blackwater Falls SPs will be your ticket for 9 days.
