campgrounds on ocean NJ prt of wast coast

hello looking for a campground 8 hours (+/-) from Maine in April. looking in Delaware, NJ, MD, VA area. 30' trailer first time out n this trailer. trying to stay warm, limit driving time and be on the ocean. Anyone got any great ideas?
I have suggestions for Bar Harbor,MD and Tom's Cove VA just a little further then wanted to drive
  • Not on the ocean but on the water. Castaways in ocean city md ( Berlin). They do have a shuttle bus to take you into ocean city, nice perk. Good luck

You might look into Delaware Seashore State Park. I have never stayed at this campground in Delaware but have been by it and they are adding to the campground. It is within walking distance of the ocean and opens on April 1 with full service. I will mention that April in the mid-Atlantic can still be quite cool.

I have to agree on DE seashore park is a good choice. It may still be a bit chilly however coming from Maine DE may seem like Miami Beach!:B

We stay here usually 3-4 times a year.. Great campground , cheap ($45.00) clean , on the water ( inlet) walk to the ocean... All that BUT like stated ,there may not be too many warm beach days that time of year.... Our first trip there is usually Memorial Day ..
  • Assateague State Park in Maryland is just over the dune line from the ocean. Not sure how crowded they are in April, but they're booked pretty heavy in the warmer weather, especially the loop with electricity. The National Park is close by, too, although camping is no-hook ups there, as I recall.
