Camping near Hershey PA

Hello,

We're planning a long weekend trip to Hershey PA. Are there any campgrounds anyone would recommend? We're coming from NJ, so the east side of the are would be better for us. We're not really looking for a site with a lot of activities (that's why we're going to Hershey!), but would like a nice clean CG with full hookups. We tow a small (20') TT, so size limitation probably doesn't apply.

Thanks!

  • stay at Highmeadow, just changed name to Hershey Campground...same place, same management. also get your tickets at the campground, you get a discount. the shuttle for the hershey lodging includes the campground, picks you up at the campground and drops you off at the entrace gate to hershey park. if you are going with little kids, they can put a stroller on the shuttle, though our jogging stroller didn't fit in the under storage, they didn't have an issue with it going on the bus with us. if you drive over there is a fee to park.
  • Highmeadow is the place! We have 2 DD's, 5 and 8 when we went last year. We LOVED it. Pretty much swimming pools, and the park. Shuttle is new, clean and runs every few minutes, according to park attendance. They pick you up at front gate, return you to the park office. Tickets can be purchased at campground for a discounted price.
  • Hershey has their own campground and it is called Hershey High Meadow Campground...It is clean and they have a free shuttle to the park every 1/2 hour or so...If your staying there you can also get access to the park earlier then the rest...They have full hook up sites and are easy for me and my 40' fifth wheel to get onto...It sounds like what you want as there is nothing much to do except swim there...Good Luck And Happy Camping...Joe
