Do you ever crate your dog? I know some people think it's cruel but it's not. It actually can help them feel safe and secure. All of my dogs have been crate trained. They willingly go in their crates and prefer to sleep there. I have given them the option to sleep outside of their crate but 10-10:30 rolls around and they go crawl in their crates for bed.
When we camp we have crates that can easily be set up and broken down and when we leave, if the dogs can't come with us, they stay inside the TT in their crates with some treats and toys. That way they have a familiar safe place to be when they are in an overall unfamiliar place.
If that isn't an option for you to use a crate or crate train your dog, then training will be your best bet. No way your dog will stop barking without learning how.
